A pie-tart press (PTF) is a piece of industrial equipment designed to press or shape food products in circular shapes, up to a diameter of 350 mm. This equipment allows large quantities of product to be manufactured, when compared to manual production. The pie-tart press is made up of:
• A press punch;
• Moulds in which the shaped dough is placed;
• Interconnected processes that allow the operator to control the temperature, air pressure and pressing time.
The PTF has been designed to manufacture pies, pasties and other layered and shortcrust pastry products.
