The “Ruta del Buen Pan” (Journey through Good Bread) is an event which main objective is the recognition of Spain’s best bakers, through a competition held in each of the autonomous communities (Rutas del Buen Pan por Autonomías) and at national level (La Ruta Española del Buen Pan).
Distributed by the autonomous communities of Spain, the “Ruta del Buen Pan” elects the 80 best bakers in the country, a selection that the organization calls “top baker” (panadero top) – the one that makes a truly traditional bread, that presents the bread in an attractive way in the shop or storefront and that provides a good customer service.
In the various competitions that are part of the “Ruta del Buen Pan”, the jury is composed by four specialists from the respective region, under the orientation of a president, which analyzes various parameters of bread, such as flavor, aroma, shape, weight, crumb, visual …, where any baker can compete since it has its own manufacture.
The Ruta del Buen Pan began its work in February to visit the communities of Catalonia, Andalusia, Galicia, Valencia, Castilla y León, Madrid, Aragon, Baleares, Asturias, Cantabria, Navarre, Basque Country, La Rioja, the Canary Islands, Extremadura, Murcia, Castilla La Mancha … until November, when the final phase will happen
