On the 28th of June, “Portuguese Communities Day 2023” took place at our Bakish Center in Vagos. An event that brought together the diaspora that daily promotes the Portuguese bakery sector in Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Andorra.
Exceptional professionals, entrepreneurs with creativity and boldness, gathered to discuss the ins and outs of Portuguese bakery and pastry.

We talked about the “pastel de nata”, the Portuguese custard tart and the particularity of the process of sheeting the puff pastry. “Pão alentejano” (“Alentejo” bread) and new formats preserving its identity, “Broa” (Portuguese corn bread) and its kneading, the “Bola de Berlim” and its cut, the Porto croissant.
The event was a unique moment filled with shared experiences, ideas, and challenges of our world – the bakery and pastry sector.
It was also a wonderful time spent socializing where we realized that together we can make a difference, elevating our baking and making Portugal a clear reference of world gastronomy. To all those that chose to be present, thank you very much!
