It was in 1985 that Superminas started out towards becoming the largest supermarket and bakery fair in Minas Gerais, Brazil’s second largest state in terms of number of inhabitants.

After being held for the first time at the Othon Palace Hotel’s convention centre, Superminas quickly moved to the capital’s largest exhibition space, Expominas.

Edition after edition it gradually won over the market before becoming an official bakery sector event in 2012 following an agreement between the Minas Gerais Association of Supermarkets (AMIS - Associação Mineira e Supermercados) and the Minas Gerais Bakery Industry Trade Union and Association (Amipão - Sindicato e Associação Mineira da Indústria da Panificação).

Hosting visitors from all over Brazil, the event brought together 54 thousand professionals and 480 exhibition stands - 20% more when compared to the previous edition. As has become common practice in recent years, Ferneto Brazil attended yet another edition of Superminas.

In addition to our usual equipment exhibitor stand, prepared in partnership with Ramalhos Brasil (an oven manufacturing company), we made our presence felt with a small bakery workshop, which presented several different bread-making techniques and practices over the 3 days of the fair.

Our thanks go out to all employees, customers and professionals who visited us on the 17, 18 and 19 October.
