Spain is a country of great cultural and culinary wealth, which has had a great influence on the quality and diversity of its bakery and patisserie traditions.

The bakery sector in Spain has grown step by step over recent years, placing bread on a higher level with added value compared to other foods, the importance of which is being recognised by consumers.

As part of major work to defend bread and its image, professional bakery associations, professionals, celebrities and the sector's main asset, consumers, have all made their contributions to increasing the quality and diversity of bread, bolstering the bakery sector.
Increasing amounts of information given to consumers, the existence of more specific regulations, professional training requirements for bakery staff and a lively bakery culture - where bread is lived, breathed and discussed, are some of the reasons for this growth.

It is with this backdrop that Intersicop has arisen to become a key part of the Spanish bakery industry.

Following on from the positive results of 2017, the 12th edition saw a 14.2% increase in visitors received, with major delegations form the provinces of Andalusia, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, Castile and Leon, Valencia and Galicia.

At a strong and diverse exhibition, with 212 exhibitors representing all of the main players on the market, 40 technical seminars, “n” live demonstrations and the usual national craft baking championships for students of patisserie, craft ice creams and for the best master baker in Spain (MMAPE), Intersicop featured as the true meeting point between suppliers in professionals in the Spanish sector.
Internationalisation was another focus of Intersicop 2019 where meetings were held with international companies from Colombia, Morocco, Mexico, Tunisia, Chile and Peru.

For Ferneto, the company saw the most confidence from the Spanish market during this edition, “We have even closer ties to the Spanish bakery industry and its professionals. We are growing hand-in-hand with professionals.”, said João Negrão, commercial manager for the Spanish market.

Following-up with customers before, during and after sales, along with bespoke solutions based on specialist knowledge of the bakery industry, is the main recipe for Ferneto’s success, which also features in the company’s motto we speak bakish. Ferneto also had a wide range of equipment of display, featuring the different families of spiral mixersplanetary mixers, dough sheeters and dough dividers.

In truly hustling and bustling surroundings, where the stand seemed small for so many people, we welcomed hundreds of visits from customers, partners, employees and friends who travelled from different regions of Spain, Portugal and other countries. Many thanks to all of you who visited us!
