WHAT IS A DOUGH EXTRUDER?

Dough extruders are pieces of equipment designed to transform food doughs or other types of products, using a mechanical system to replace manual labour. That allows some products to be produced on a continuous production flow, ensuring that production is maximised with fewer manual processes. Extruders are made up of:

  • Hopper where the dough product is placed
  • Extrusion element (spindles)
  • Matrix to shape the food product
  • Motors that drive the extrusion system
  • Timed cutting system
  • Interconnection of technological processes that allow the operator to control the extrusion and cutting rhythm and the belt speed

As indicated by its name, extrusion is a process where the dough is forced through a hole and, once processed, it takes on the shape of a cord with the same diameter and configuration set by the hole (matrix).

Being able to adjust the cutting rhythm, the belt speed and the extrusion motor speed mean that the Ferneto Dough Extruder has a very versatile nature.

Versatility, high levels of production, low costs, diversification of production (a range of different shapes) and a reduction in physical effort are its main advantages for operators and investors.

Biscuits, snackscroutons, breadsticks, aperitifs and sweet and savoury confectionery products can be easily produced using this equipment.

The quality and types of products manufactured using the Dough Extruder depend on the type of operations carried out by professionals who, by coordinating the Extruder's cutting and movement variables, can achieve a range of different results.
